Be a hospitality volunteer
Hospitality Chair. This position has the responsibility of providing breakfast for our monthly general meetings. The role provides our amazing families with a breakfast and fresh coffee once a month on the morning of the meeting. It also has had the responsibility of planning and executing our wonderful Thanksgiving luncheon where we share the kick off to the Holiday season with those people that have meant so much to our kids through out the year. This event is a potluck luncheon and all of our families eagerly partake in sharing their favorite Holiday dish. The position allows for as much creativity as you would like in the planning of each event working within the confines of our monthly budget. All of the expenses are funded by SFFAPA and have volunteer assistants to aid in the planning.
Holiday Party Volunteer
There are so many things to do to make an event memorable for these kids and their parents. We’re always looking for people to join our team to help everything come together.
Diaper Drive Volunteer
If you are a parent, you know that you can never have enough diapers! There are many families out there struggling to get these critical items. We need help in collecting and distributing diapers for kids of all age. Come help us. For more information contact contact Minette at firstname.lastname@example.org
Backpack Drive Volunteer
One devastating consequence of being part of the system of care is the impact it has on a child’s education. Many of these children will begin school with another disadvantage. Unlike many of their friends, they need our support in building confidence and making sure that they are prepared for the school year. We want to change their story. Our goal is to be able to fill over 500 backpacks with school supplies for our kids. Let’s set up the stage for their entire school year and help them be prepared. If you would like to participate in “We Got your Back” please email Minetterivero@yahoo.com or call 786-683-0032. If you need additional information, please call 786-683-0032.
Together we can make a difference.
Monthly Meeting Volunteers
SFFAPA hosts monthly meetings on the second Saturday of the month for all of our Foster and Adoptive Families. The meetings help our families to meet and mingle monthly with other families that share the trials and challenges faced by them in the navigation of the child welfare system. Most importantly the meeting allows for our foster families to obtain their requisite training hours throughout the year in a fun family oriented setting. Many different invited speakers are brought in each month to present and address the issues most important to our families for the success of fostering a child. Interactive communication is always a must with presentations followed by question and answer sessions. Breakfast and coffee are provided during the meeting as well as raffles, gifts and themed Holiday celebrations. Childcare is always provided by the very capable and caring employees and volunteers of the Christ Fellowship Church. Volunteers are always welcome to assist with Holiday events and the monthly planning and set up of our breakfasts.
Are you looking for a way to share your talents with your community? Are you willing to help a family create a lifetime of memories, in only moments? SFFAPA is looking for volunteer photographers who would like to assist in capturing these moments during our monthly meetings and special events.
